St Swithins Day...

Happy St Swithins Day!!!
If it rains today, then we will have rain for the next 40 days - so same as the last 40 days really!
I have been addicted to my newest book, "the gentle art of domesticity" for a couple of weeks now, and as a tribute to the book, and the day - here are my very blue lemony fairy cakes, in the kitchen window with the rain behind them...

Right! off to the post office to post my Russian Doll Swap!!!
Enjoy the rest of the day - and I sincerely hope it isn't raining where you are!

Flippin' 'eck! I don't know about the gentle art, if you eat too many of those babies you'll be bouncing off the walls. ;o)
Just jealous really. The best cake I can expect to eat is made from Scan Bran!!!

Is is location specific - does that mean if it doesn't rain here we'll have none for the next 40 days? - looking good so far, the sun is actually shining - hooray!

I hope it doesn't keep raining - but then again I hope it doesn't get too hot or I will definitely wilt!

Thanks for your comments recently - I agree with you about digging for potatoes - I always say it is like digging for gold!

I have read this book too and loved it.
It is how I found out about blogs.
I have just eaten a flapjack, I got the recipe from Jane Brocket's
web site. She is the author of The Gentle Art of Domesticity and has a lovely blog called Yarnstrom although she is taking a break at the moment.

No rain yesterday, and the sky is blue this morning - not that I want to sound smug or anything! Hope it's brightened up round your way.

Thanks for stopping by, luckily it didn't rain here yesterday, and we have lovely blue skies today too. Does that mean that I will have no rain for the next 40 days? I hope so, yummy looking cakes, my daughter would love them!

Now I could have done with this fact on Saturday last during a school quizz.. I could not for the life of me remember when St Swithins's Day was.. Now I know and I am watching the clouds roll in as I type...
Oh well... it will keep the water-butts happy for 40 days!

Michele
PLEASE try and come to the Fair.. it would be so good to meet you!
